Have you ever looked into a mirror and only seen a series of unfortunate trial and errors?
A series of failures and fewer wins.
A boatload of want and need but not that much satisfaction.
Have you ever wondered how hard society has to hit us for self-love to be a process and not the natural state of existing?
Have you ever wondered how many of us don't ever rub the fog off the mirror of our steamy bathrooms?
How many of us don't understand why we're lesser but still feel smaller?
Because Ignorance is only bliss until the sharp edges of implied truths and backhanded comments hit us when we're least expecting it.
Ignorance is only bliss until we take our jealous glasses off.
We are living through our lives as if it doesn't matter what we do but the truth is that it matters more than it should.
Maybe that's why we all are so obsessed with almost everything other than our own selves.
But, till when can we keep this up?
Till when are we going to shun ourselves as if we've committed a murder?
Till when are we going to pretend to live more fully than we are?
I have more questions and answers but I will use one today to tell myself that this is not permanent.
The fog will eventually cool down and the mirror will be clear again.
